Demonstration

On May 25th 2005 at 12 p.m., students from Belgian universities demonstrated against softwarepatents.

On April 27th 2005, students and teachers of all universities in Spain demonstrated against softwarepatents (http://lucha.proinnova.org/). Inspired by our Spanish collegues, we in Belgium held a similar demonstration on wednesday the 25th of May in Antwerp, Brussels and Leuven. The event was supported by VVS (Vlaamse Vereniging van Studenten) and was a great succes: over one hundred students, teachers and assistants showed up in Leuven, about 20 in Brussels and about 30 in Antwerp. The demonstration also had a lot of press attention.
