Demonstration
On May 25th 2005 at 12 p.m., students from Belgian universities demonstrated against softwarepatents.
On April 27th 2005, students and teachers of all universities in Spain demonstrated against softwarepatents ([http://lucha.proinnova.org/]). Inspired by our Spanish collegues, we in Belgium held a similar demonstration on wednesday the 25th of May in Antwerp, Brussels and Leuven. The event was supported by [http://www.vvs.ac VVS] (Vlaamse Vereniging van Studenten) and was a great succes: over one hundred students, teachers and assistants showed up in Leuven, about 20 in Brussels and about 30 in Antwerp. The demonstration also had a lot of [wiki:StudentenTegenSoftwarePatenten press attention].
